Text 16 Nov Day 4

1. Consumption

Water: I only drank one bottle of water and only showered once, a 10 minute shower in the morning. I brushed my teeth three times and flushed the toilet three times and washed my hands 4 times.

Food: I had a sandwhich for breakfast, cheese and crackers for lunch, and a granola bar. Also for dinner I had a lt of leftover soup from yesterday. It was delicious and I must admit I was a little greedy.

Electricity: I had my light off all day, and only turned on the computer for about two hours because I had to do a presentation on it. I also barely used my phone. Only texted with one person today.

Gasoline: Got a ride to the train station this moring about 3 miles, and got a ride home from work, about 10 minutes.

Money: NO MONEY SPENT TODAY!

2. Reduction

Since today is waterless wednesday I only drank one cup of water versus the 9 I drink a day. I have a condition where I have to drink a lot of water so today was a challenge for me but I feel accomplished that I did it. I also texted so much less today which would explain my crankiness.

3. Sustainability

I can see myself spending no money some days of the wee because I realize that I can just bring in fresh water from home and dont need to buy a water bottle in school. I can also see myself texting a little less because that way less people can aggravate me.

4. Following

I noticed that since today is waterless wednesday people are trying to tae shorter showers. I agree with this only because this is something that’s realistic, and people could really tae shorter showers. I also noticed that most people dont drink the suggested 8 glasses of water a day, but they are still healthy.

Text 15 Nov Day 3

1. Consumption

Water: I drank a bottle of water all day long. I brushed my teeth this morning and took like a 6 minute shower. I flushed the toilet like three times today and washed my hands lik 7 times. I showered at night for like 11 minutes. Sorry!

Food: Sandwhich this morning, sandwhich for lunch with a yogurt, crackers, and a granola bar. I had soup for dinner and I ate a lot of that. I am always greedy with the soup.

Electricity: Had the computer on for like an hour, and only watched the news in the morning for about 13 minutes.

Gasoline: surprisingly I didn’t use the car today. I only got a ride to the train station in the morning That was about two miles.

Money: NONE!

2. Reduction

I normally spend some money everyday on like a water bottle but today I brought my water from home, and I didnt drive anywhere. I normally have many errands to run.

3. Sustainability

I cannot say that I can reduce my consumption but I tried to drink less water today and to shower for a shorter amount of time. I also tried to not drive anywhere. I think I can limit the amount of money I spend a day and just start bringing snacks from home.

4. Following

I am learning that people are trying to reduce the amount of time they spend on social networks and it just makes me so proud of myself that I don’t use any of those. That’s something that I can continue to model and maybe some of my peers can consider deleting theirs or spending less time on it a week.

Text 14 Nov Day 2

1. Consumption

Food: I ate a sandwhich for breakfast with orange juice. For lunch I had another sandwhich, a yogurt, and a granola bar and a bottle of water. Then when I got home from school I had a hamburger with fries and for dinner I had rice beans and chicken. I had dinner twice!!

Water: As soon as I woke up I had a glass of water, and then I had a bottle of water for lunch. I also had water twice for dinner. I also showered only twice today!

Electricity: I turned on my computer just to do this post for about a half hour.

Gasoline: I drove a lot today because I had errands to run, even though they were all around my house. I wasted almost a quarter of a tank.

Money: I know we were supposed to save money today but I spent the most money today because I forgot my student bus pass at home so I had to keep putting money on a charlie card. I also bought a bottle of water in scool. I also had to renew my passport so I spent quite a lot of money today.

2. Reduction

I was really hoping not to spend too much money today but leaving my bus pass at home didnt really help. I scaled back on the amount of time I showered today. I showered for only 6 minutes versus the 15 I usually spend.

3. Sustainability

Today I spent more money than I usually do because I forgot my bus pass at home and because I had to renew my passport. This is something that I definitely wont have to do again for a long time, and I also never forget my bus pass at home.

4. I learned that being realistic about things, you cant really scale back on the money because some days you will spend more money than others, and there will be some days when you wont spend any money at all. This all depends what the day brings to do. Also, I learned that people are really trying to cut back on some of their unconscious consumptions that are ruining the environment.

Text 13 Nov Day 1

1. Consumption

Water: I brushed my teeth, drank a glass of water, and washed my hands in the morning. I also took a 8 minute shower in the morning. When I got to work I took water from the water fountain and I washed my hands at work three times. When I got home I had a glass of water and brushed my teeth and took a 10 minute shower for bed.

Food: Turkey and cheese sandwhich for breakfast. For lunch I had leftovers from Fridays (pasta) and a granola bar. For dinner I had a buffalo chicken wrap.

Electricity: My phone was charging this morning. I changed with a small lamp and not with the light of my room. Sadly at work we have the computers on all day long 24/7 (they never shut off) and then I turned on my laptop for like an hour.

Gasoline: I drove to work which was about 10 miles.

Money: I took $60 out of the bank. I went to CVS and spent $16 and I bought a buffalo chicken wrap for dinner for $7.

2. Reduction

I took a short shower this morning and for lunch at work I brought leftovers from the night before because I usually buy lunch everytime I work which is about $10. I also showered twice versus the three or four times I normally do. I only used the computer to type this post. I am not on any social networking sites so thats not an issue with me.

3. Sustainability:

I think I can change all those showers I take a day. I literally take way too many. I think I can cut back to two showers a day. I can also stop buying lunch every time I work because it can get expensive when I could just be saving my money.
